Kamalei Purdy

KOIP Summer Intern 2020

Our newest Kāpili ‘Oihana Intern for the summer is Kamalei Purdy! From Makawao, Maui, Kamalei is currently attending University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo and pursuing a degree in Hawaiian Studies, Anthropology, and Archaeology. When she’s not juggling school and her internship with us, Kamalei dances hula and enjoys outrigger paddling. Her favorite native plant is ‘a’ali’i (Dodonaea Viscosa) because it was her class plant at Kamehameha Schools Maui Campus and it has the message of standing tall and strong through hardships.
