Wiliwilinui Trail

Wiliwilinui Trail lies adjacent to our Waiʻalae Nui Management Unit in the southern Koʻolau. 

  • Time Commitment: 5-7 hours.

  • Activity Level: Moderate - Hard. 

  • Climate: Mesic forest. Climate is variable. Lower elevation in the first mile are warmer and less frequent trade winds. Higher elevations have variable weather from sun to rain and trade winds that can be potentially blustery.  

  • 4-5 mile round trip hike with pauses for interpretive hike talks. 

  • Moʻolelo and history sharing of Wiliwilinui. 

  • Removing targeted invasive plants like palm grass (Setaria palmifolia).
